Job summary

CenterWell Senior Primary Care, part of Humana, is seeking a Medical Assistant to be the first contact for patient care. This onsite role includes administrative duties and direct patient support within a clinic setting in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include pre-visit planning, recording histories and vitals, rooming patients, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and documenting in EHR/EMR systems, with emphasis on HEDIS/Stars measures. TB screening is required.

Qualifications

• Active CMA or RMA certification from recognized bodies.
• Completed MA training program or 5+ years experience with provider approval.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• 1+ years of MA experience.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.
• CPR certification.
• TB screening is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.
• Obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
• Room patients and assist providers with procedures and treatments.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Prepare and administer medications under clinician supervision.
• Ensure accurate documentation in EHR/EMR systems, including HEDIS/Stars measures.
