Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group in Frederick, MD is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff with both clinical and administrative duties in a specialty practice.

You will gather patient history, assist with exams, collect specimens, prepare rooms, and coordinate tests while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and respect for patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred or required by state
• CPR/BLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and document medical histories
• Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits
• Provide compassionate customer service and communication with patients and families
• Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians with procedures under supervision
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and administer injections as allowed by state
• Schedule tests and follow-up appointments and communicate results to patients
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and equipment and manage patient records
