Job summary

San José Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist in patient care under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. You will triage, interview, measure vitals, and record information in patient charts, while supporting translation and patient instructions.

The role requires English and Spanish proficiency, CPR, and a minimum of 6 months in family practice or community health. You will follow HIPAA/OSHA guidelines and help maintain a clean, compliant clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma.
• National Certified Medical Assisting Certificate is required.
• Current CPR Training is required.
• Minimum 6 months experience in family practice or community health setting.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care under the supervision of nursing and medical staff.
• Triages patient concerns on-site, via telephone or electronic messaging.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information.
• Assist providers with translation for exams and procedures as needed.
• Report observations and patient conditions to the provider or nurse management.
• Assist in communicating lab results and care instructions to patients.
• Perform basic testing (hearing, vision, EKG, spirometry) and specimen collection.
• Maintain infection control and PPE guidelines; prepare and stock rooms.
• Follow HIPAA/OSHA guidelines and clinic policies.
