Job summary

Mission Neighborhood Health Center in San Francisco seeks a Medical Assistant for our Pediatric, Adult Medicine, or Women's clinics. This full-time, non-exempt, union role requires Wednesday and Thursday evenings (11a–8p) with benefits.

The MA will support front desk and clinical operations, perform room preparation, vital signs, immunizations, basic lab tests, charting in the EHR, and patient education, with Spanish-English translation as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
• National Certification as Medical Assistant strongly preferred.
• Six months experience in healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for clinic and between patients; restock supplies.
• Take vital signs and document patient history.
• Assist in immunizations and point-of-care tests.
• Enter all documentation in the Electronic Health Record.
• Coordinate patient flow and scheduling; provide patient education.
• Provide translation services (English/Spanish) as needed.
• Cover clinic receptionist duties as necessary (phones, scheduling).
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA policies.
• Cross-train in other departments to ensure staffing stability.
