Job summary

University of Utah Health Research is seeking a PS Medical Assistant I with a primary focus on care coordination for patients and Spanish interpretation services. The role includes facilitating efficient patient care under licensed staff guidance, administering medications as directed, and performing administrative tasks.

Located at the South Main Clinic in Salt Lake City, this position offers career growth within a defined ladder and a standard 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• One of the following: EMT course, Medical Assistant education program, CMA/RMA/NCMA certification, or University Hospital Medical Assistant certification program.

Responsibilities

• Interprets communication with Spanish-speaking population and translates educational materials.
• Follows up to coordinate care with physicians and nursing staff.
• Prepares patient charts, referral letters and clinic schedules; answers questions on policies and fees.
