Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish preferred for interpretation and translation
• Experience in ambulatory care MA roles is desirable
• EMT or MA certification programs supported by UT health system

Responsibilities

• Interpret between staff and Spanish-speaking patients
• Coordinate care under physician and nursing staff directions
• Prepare patient charts, referrals, schedules, and collect insurance information
• Assist patients with forms and access to patient portal
• Maintain patient registries and update electronic medical records
• Identify high-risk patients and add to registries for follow-up
• Provide patient education and discharge planning in Spanish
• Coordinate medical necessity certifications and pre-authorizations
• Prepare patients for exams and assist with procedures
• Act as chaperone and assist with patient examinations
