Job summary

The Philadelphia Women’s Center is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time role in Philadelphia, PA. The position supports abortion care and related services in a fast-paced clinical setting, with patient education and advocacy as core components.

Responsibilities include vitals, OR support, recovery, and lab tasks; strong communication and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for better patient interpretation support.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania requires proof of high school diploma/GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (EHR experience a plus!).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Pre-procedure vitals, basic lab work.
• OR assistance in setup, during procedures and transport.
• Recovery room assistance including vitals.
• Assist with education and counseling, and connect to resources.
• Refer patients as needed to support services.
• Run basic iron/Rh tests; no special experience required.
