Humana Inc Conviva Senior Primary Care is hiring a Medical Assistant who serves as the first point of contact for patient care, performing both administrative and clinical duties in an outpatient setting. The role includes taking vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and inputting information into the electronic medical records system.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, support vaccination tasks and phlebotomy if trained, and report to the Clinic Administrator.

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments. The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties. These duties include discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system. They also take vital signs, give injections, and perform diagnostic tests. Additionally, the Medical Assistant collects specimens, draws blood, sterilizes and cleans equipment, and maintains examination rooms at an outpatient care site.

Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. You will report onsite to the Clinic Administrator located at 12602 Toepperwein Road Suite 100 San Antonio, TX 78233.

Required

• You will have successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
• You will have a high school diploma or equivalent
• You will have CPR Certified

Preferred

• You will have phlebotomy experience
• You will have medication/vaccine administration experience
• You will have 1+ years MA experience
• You will have Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
• You will be Bilingual proficient in English and Spanish

Additional Information
