Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care seeks a Medical Assistant to be the first contact for patients, handling administrative tasks and clinical support in an outpatient setting. You will work closely with Physicians, Nurses, and staff to ensure safe, efficient care during visits.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, taking vital signs, performing injections, collecting specimens, and assisting with examinations while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Completed MA school or equivalent training or 5+ years of experience
  • CPR certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (proficiency test)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for exams, discussing symptoms and care needs
  • Record vital signs and clinical observations in EMR accurately
  • Administer injections and perform procedures within scope
  • Conduct diagnostic tests, collect specimens, and draw blood
  • Assist providers with examinations and clinical workflows
  • Maintain sterile equipment and exam rooms according to safety standards
  • Educate patients on care instructions, medications, and follow-up
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and policies

The Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

The Medical Assistant provides advanced clinical support within an outpatient care setting and works closely with Physicians, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. You will report to the Center Administrator and play an important role in ensuring patients receive safe, efficient, and compassionate care throughout their visit.

In this role, you will:

  • Welcome and prepare patients for examinations and procedures by discussing symptoms, medical history, and care needs.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient information, and clinical observations accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Administer injections and perform clinical procedures within the scope of your certification, training, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, collect specimens, and draw blood for laboratory testing.
  • Assist providers and nurses with patient examinations, treatments, and clinical workflows.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment in accordance with infection prevention and safety standards.
  • Prepare, stock, and maintain examination rooms to ensure readiness for patient care.
  • Educate patients on care instructions, medications, and follow-up appointments as directed by the care team.
  • Monitor and prioritize daily patient care activities while supporting efficient clinic operations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Required

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Preferred

  • Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
  • Phlebotomy experience Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$43,000 - $56,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
