Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care seeks a Medical Assistant to join our outpatient team in San Antonio, TX. You will provide both administrative support and clinical assistance, including vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and EHR data entry.

Reporting to the Clinic Administrator at 12602 Toepperwein Road, Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78233, the role requires MA training or CMA/5+ years experience, CPR certification, and a high school diploma; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Complete MA school or CMA/registered Medical Assistant; 5+ years with provider approval.
• CPR certification required; bilingual skills preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for patient care and administrative duties.
• Take vital signs, administer injections, and perform diagnostic tests as qualified.
• Input data into electronic medical records and collect specimens.
• Sterilize and maintain examination rooms; assist Physicians and Nurses.
• Support value-based care initiatives, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience as applicable.
• Collaborate with clinic leadership and report to Clinic Administrator.

The Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties. These duties include discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system. They also take vital signs, give injections, and perform diagnostic tests. Additionally, the Medical Assistant collects specimens, draws blood, sterilizes and cleans equipment, and maintains examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.

Required

• You will have successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
• You will have a high school diploma or equivalent
• You will be CPR Certified

Preferred

• You will have phlebotomy experience
• You will have medication/vaccine administration experience
• You will have 1+ years MA experience
• You will have Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
• You will be Bilingual proficient in English and Spanish

Additional Information:

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$43,000 - $56,200 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
