Responsibilities
- A Certified or Registered Medical Assistant provides patient care under the direction of a medical provider. Responsible for rooming patients, taking vital signs, and facilitating the work flow of the physician schedule. Utilizes the EMR to retrieve patient's medical records, x-ray films, scans, lab work, etc., in preparation for the patient's office visit. Performs computer data entry to maintain and update the patient's electronic medical record. Performs general clerical duties including answering phones, relaying messages, follow-up calls, copying, and faxing.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
- Registered MA or nationally certified MA certifications.
- 2-4 years of medical or healthcare experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills required.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.
- Computer skills and typing proficiency; experience with electronic medical records strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Calm, professional attitude, high ethics, and confidentiality.

Essential Duties
- Patient Relations: greet patients, respond to needs, schedule appointments, and maintain confidentiality.
- Clerical: maintain charts, handle records and documentation, and support staff with administrative tasks.
- Documentation: accurately log authorizations, results, and patient observations, ensuring compliance with confidentiality guidelines.
