Job summary

A Safe Place seeks a compassionate Bilingual Legal Services Case Manager in Waukegan, IL, to support survivors through crisis intervention, safety planning and case management for court proceedings.

You will liaise with courts, State’s Attorney’s Office, law enforcement, and legal aid, maintaining client records and state reporting while delivering survivor-centered services in a trauma-informed framework.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, social work, counseling, criminal justice, or a related field preferred.
• A high school diploma/GED with 3–5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake, eligibility determinations, needs assessments, and required documentation using various systems.
• Develop individualized safety and service plans and connect clients with resources.
• Assist clients with preparing and filing Orders of Protection and other court documents.
