Job summary

Barbas, Nuñez, Sanders, Butler & Hovsepian in Tampa seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to support workers' compensation and personal injury matters. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate professionally with clients.

Spanish fluency is required due to frequent interactions with Spanish-speaking clients; familiarity with Clio Manage and Microsoft Office is a plus, with opportunities to grow within the firm.

Qualifications

• Experience with Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury law strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge and experience using Clio Manage is a plus.
• Experience with other legal case management software is also a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury cases.
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Assist with opening, maintaining, and organizing client files.
• Prepare correspondence, legal documents, and other case-related materials.
• Assist with gathering medical records, bills, and other documentation.
• Maintain case calendars, deadlines, appointments, and follow-up tasks.
• Communicate with clients regarding case status, appointments, documentation, and other case-related matters.
• Assist with preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings; Enter and maintain accurate case information in the firm’s case management system.
• Perform general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned.
