Job summary

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks a full-time bilingual Legal Advocate to join the Impact Litigation Unit. The position requires fluency in English and Spanish and readiness to start immediately in Tacoma, WA.

The advocate will work on habeas petitions for individuals challenging detention at NWIPC, conduct client intakes, gather evidence, draft declarations, and help file court documents. Based in the Tacoma office, this role involves close collaboration with a Seattle-based unit

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Ability to start ASAP and commit for at least two years.
• Experience in legal advocacy or immigration setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intakes and gather evidence for habeas petitions.
• Draft declarations and legal filings with court.
• Assist with court filings and related administrative tasks.
