Job summary

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks a full-time bilingual legal advocate for its Seattle office. The role focuses on unaccompanied children and youth removal proceedings, with opportunities to assist on various immigration protections including SIJ, asylum, U- and T-visas, and status adjustments.

You will work under attorney supervision, engaging in intake, case analysis, document preparation, and direct representation, with potential travel and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and another language; willingness to work with interpreters.
• Commitment to immigrant rights and NWIRP’s mission; inclusive environment.
• Experience advocating for youth is preferred; able to work with vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes by phone and in person with children and youth.
• Assist in case analysis to determine eligibility for immigration protections.
• Prepare and submit immigration forms and supporting documents to courts and USCIS.
• Provide pro se assistance to community members not eligible for NWIRP services.
• Collaborate with community partners to refer clients to resources.
• Maintain up-to-date files and prepare monthly status reports.
