Job summary

San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP) is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support the Staff Attorney at the North County Family Justice Center in San Marcos, CA. The role provides legal services to abuse victims and involves intake, client services, and records management. The position is full-time, based in the office five days per week with typical hours 8:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
• Minimum 6 months of general office administration experience.
• Must have dependable transportation with valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Screen applicants to determine eligibility for services and conduct intake of new clients.
• Assist in providing client services.
• Maintain accurate program records and client/volunteer information for reporting and operations.
• Collaborate with Family Justice Center staff to coordinate legal services.
• Maintain client files and create forms and documents.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules.
• Assist in recruiting and training volunteers.
• Schedule presentations and trainings.
• Provide coverage at various SDVLP locations as needed.
• Translate/interprete for clients as appropriate.
• Travel to/from court for filing legal documents and serving documents.
• Engage in other tasks to further SDVLP’s mission.
