Job summary

Pratum Co in Newark, NJ seeks a Bilingual Leasing/Recertification Specialist to manage annual and interim recertifications for affordable housing communities. The role requires strong English/Spanish communication, precise income verification, and adherence to HUD and LIHTC rules.

You will interview residents, review income documents, and update files while ensuring deadline-driven compliance in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, on-site position in Newark.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish-English with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in affordable housing, property management, occupancy, or housing compliance.
• Hands-on experience processing HUD Section 8 and/or LIHTC annual and interim recertifications.
• Working knowledge of HUD occupancy and income requirements.
• Experience reviewing income, assets, allowances, deductions, household composition, and supporting documentation.
• Experience with EIV and other income-verification systems.

Responsibilities

• Process annual and interim recertifications for HUD Project-Based Section 8 and LIHTC properties.
• Conduct resident interviews and verify income, assets, and deductions.
• Maintain accurate resident files and ensure compliance with program requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents and staff in both English and Spanish.
• Follow established procedures and meet deadlines for recertifications.
