Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Denver is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Y Academy Early Childhood Team. You will deliver professional customer service and relationship-building skills to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a co-teaching setting.

Responsibilities include implementing play-based curriculum, supporting children’s development, and mentoring assistants. Strong bilingual skills preferred, with opportunities for professional growth within a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 3,185 hours of verified care experience for 4+ children under 8.
• Current Early Childhood Credential Level 2+ in Colorado Shines PDIS v3.0.
• Six college credits in ECE with specified courses.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, engaging classroom where every child is valued and included.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities fostering creativity and growth.
• Lead and mentor assistant teachers in a collaborative team.
• Build and maintain relationships with families through communication and partnership.
• Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of all children.
• Participate in family conferences and engagement programs.
