Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta seeks a bilingual Preschool Instructor to support preschool curriculum and bolster social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development for English and Spanish learners. You will teach in a 3-day, 3-hour weekly format and build relationships with diverse children.

Applicants should be 21+, with HS diploma, bilingual proficiency, and 1+ years of child care experience; CPR/First Aid must be obtained within 30 days. YMCA offers benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and at least 21 years of age.
• Proficient written, verbal, and reading skills in both English and Spanish.
• 1+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting.
• CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students during 3-day 3-hour weekly sessions.
• Provide rich learning experiences for bilingual students; preserve first language while developing second language.
• Deliver preapproved preschool curriculum.
• Develop relationships with students and work on age-appropriate milestones regardless of background or English proficiency.
• Model positive interaction and encourage learning-through-play in a classroom environment.
