Job summary

YWCA Princeton is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for young children. You will implement developmentally appropriate experiences using The Creative Curriculum and Teacher Strategies GOLD to observe and support growth. You will lead daily classroom activities, collaborate with assistants and staff, and build respectful partnerships with families.

The role requires flexibility within operating hours 7:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• CDA credential or an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in licensed early childhood education or childcare setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement developmentally appropriate daily learning experiences aligned with The Creative Curriculum and YWCA policies.
• Create an engaging classroom environment encouraging exploration and a love of learning.
• Develop lesson plans reflecting children's developmental levels and needs.
• Demonstrate safety, supervision, and positive guidance in all activities.
• Maintain required records and ensure licensing compliance.
• Engage with families through effective communication and conferences.
