Responsibilities

• Conduct inventor interviews in Japanese and English to prepare for drafting original patent applications.
• Draft patent applications in English.
• Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including drafting responses to office actions and conducting examiner interviews (or assist with these if not yet admitted to the USPTO).
• Draft correspondence to Japanese clients and translate Japanese correspondence to English as needed.
• Prosecute patent applications in foreign jurisdictions via communication with foreign associates.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys, agents, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure excellence in client service at all times.
