Stratford Solutions Inc. in New York invites applications for an Interpreter (On-Site & Virtual) to support NYC public schools and administrative offices with equitable language access.

The contractor will provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, sight translation when needed, and travel to various NYC locations, while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have three (3) years of professional interpretation experience.
• Fluency in English and at least one target language.
• Demonstrated proficiency in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics standards.
• Experience working with diverse populations and multicultural communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between English and the target language.
• Perform sight translation of written materials when required.
• Facilitate communication during meetings, conferences, hearings, information sessions, and other events.
• Maintain accuracy, neutrality, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
• Support interactions involving parents, students, school staff, and administrative personnel.
• Remain available for the full duration of assigned events unless otherwise authorized.
