Job summary

NLACRC is seeking an Intake-Officer of the Day Specialist (Bilingual SP) to assist callers and walk-ins with Lanterman eligibility applications, intake inquiries, and documentation collection. The role supports the SFV Intake department and maintains daily case activity in the agency system.

The position requires a bachelor’s in a human services field, two years’ related experience (master’s degree may substitute), and bilingual English/Spanish. Some travel to Antelope Valley may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, or related human services field.
• Two years of related experience; Master’s degree may substitute for experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and internet use.

Responsibilities

• Assist callers and walk-ins with inquiries about applying for Lanterman Services.
• Assist families with completing an application for Lanterman eligibility over the phone, email, or in-person.
• Assist callers and walk-ins with Intake case management inquiries.
• Gather initial documentation related to eligibility category of concern.
• Obtain records and sign releases/consents.
• Provide resources available in the community.
• Update demographics in the agency computer system and document daily case activity.
• Review DCFS portal for referrals and accuracy.
• Provide caseload coverage as needed.
• Provide follow-up on uncovered caseloads including records follow-up.
• Follow-up on outstanding information and assignments.
• Assist with special projects and unique situations.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the department as needed.
• Perform other duties consistent with department needs.
