Job summary

U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) seeks an immigration attorney to provide pro-bono and low-bono services across eligibility determinations, application submissions, and client representation.

You will engage in outreach, develop grant proposals, supervise staff, and maintain bar membership while serving refugees and immigrants nationwide. Hybrid work may be considered.

Qualifications

• J.D. with a valid license to practice law; State Bar membership preferred.
• Minimum of two years' experience in immigration law.
• Strong writing and intercultural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes and provide legal consultations to determine eligibility for relief.
• Prepare and submit immigration applications (VAWA, U-Visas, T-Visas, asylum, etc.).
• Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, and BIA, including hearings and Infopass appointments.
• Make referrals to partner service providers and community organizations.
• Assist in grant/contract proposals and reporting; participate in outreach and trainings.
• Supervise Legal Assistant and participate in team collaboration.
