Job summary

The American Dream School in the South Bronx is seeking a fully bilingual (Spanish/English) science teacher to join our project-based program. The role focuses on developing a rigorous science curriculum and equipping students with analytical and problem-solving skills for college readiness.

You will deliver clearly designed lessons, use data to inform instruction, and participate in co-teaching to support diverse learners while maintaining high behavioral expectations and building an inclusive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• New York State Teaching Certification 7-12 or Special Education 7-12 is required.
• Strong organizational, data tracking, and analysis skills.
• Maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, complete assignments with consistent accuracy.
• Tech-savvy; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google docs/drive.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support a rigorous science program aligned to ADS curriculum.
• Develop and teach engaging, Common Core-aligned science lessons.
• Maintain high behavioral expectations and apply ADS behavior system.
• Use Illuminate Education data to drive instruction and mastery of standards.
• Collaborate in a co-teaching model to support diverse learning needs.
• Create interim assessments to drive instruction and prep for Regents.
• Maintain records and generate progress reports.
• Foster an inclusive, responsive classroom environment.
• Participate in grade-level meetings and professional development.
• Engage in teacher-parent conferences and peer observations.
