Job summary

The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to provide administrative support to the HR department and assist employees with HR/benefits matters.

The role includes handling sensitive disciplinary matters with discretion and maintaining confidential personnel records. The HR Specialist will assist with annual open enrollment, coordinate with benefits consultants as needed, and support recruiting activities, including posting positions and screening applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience working in Human Resources environment.
• Minimum of 1-2 years administrative experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: MS Word, Excel & Publisher.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clerical support to the HR department and assist with customer service to employees on HR/benefits matters.
• Assist with annual open enrollment for employee health insurance benefits and communicate plan access to employees.
• Assist with recruiting activities including posting/closing positions, screening, and interviewing processes.
• Assist with paperwork for new hires and terminations, including background and driver license checks, pre-employment and post-accident screenings.
• Assist with leaves of absence documentation, including federal forms, FMLA tracking, and workers’ compensation reporting.
