Tellepsen is seeking a Bilingual HR Generalist to join our People Operations team in the Houston area. This hands-on role supports both professional and craft workers across onboarding, benefits, records, compliance, and employee relations, with fluent English and Spanish communication required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HR generalist experience across onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits, records, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with HR leadership to execute HR initiatives, policies, and programs across professional and craft employee populations.
• Serve as a primary day-to-day HR resource for employees and managers, guiding on policies and workplace matters, monitoring HR communications, escalating complex issues appropriately.
• Own and continuously improve onboarding for professional and craft employees, and facilitate new-hire orientation in English and Spanish.
• Support employee relations by gathering information, documenting concerns, investigating, preparing HR documentation, and coaching employees and front-line leaders.
• Coordinate employee lifecycle transactions: promotions, pay changes, transfers, terminations—ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage core compliance activities: Form I-9 audits, policy acknowledgements, and other tasks, completed on time.
• Manage unemployment claims with Texas Workforce Commission, including hearings support.
• Support reporting and audits, employment verifications, and garnishment setup with Payroll.
• Maintain accurate HR records and data through document management and retention practices.
• Provide first-level benefits support: eligibility and enrollment, open enrollment, routine questions.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Accounting, Operations, Recruiting, and Training to execute processes on time while maintaining HR ownership.
• Identify gaps and risks, and propose practical improvements with sound judgment.
