Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools is seeking a Non Affiliated Exempt Staff member to support Hmong-speaking and other AAPI students, families and staff. The role involves translating for meetings, aiding enrollment, and connecting families with students across district sites.

Under the Director of Equity and Engagement, you will work with enrollment, multilingual staff, and principals to advance cultural and linguistic inclusion and educational equity for diverse learners in the district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Hmong-speaking and other AAPI students, families, and staff.
• Assist enrollment process and connect families with students.
• Coordinate with district leadership and AAPI committees to support engagement initiatives.
• Develop programs impacting learning experiences and academic success for Hmong and AAPI students.
• Facilitate student empowerment, peer mentoring, and identity development groups.
• Provide culturally relevant and linguistically responsive learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom.
• Support the Achievement and Integration Plan and the District Strategic Plan as they relate to AAPI students and families.
• Collaborate with district leadership and community partners to advocate for targeted engagement.
