Job summary

KO Business Solutions is seeking a Medication Adherence Counselor (Bilingual) in Chicago, IL to support clients living with HIV and those at risk. The role emphasizes culturally competent care, trauma-informed assessments, home delivery outreach, and linking clients to benefits.

Qualifications include bilingual English/Spanish fluency, a relevant BA/BS, and HIV care experience; Master’s degree or pharmacy background is a plus. Location is Chicago, IL with nonprofit mission focus.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish required.
• BA/BS in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Counseling.
• Master’s degree and/or pharmacy experience preferred.
• At least one year of HIV care and management experience required.
• Certified HIV/AIDS Tester or credential within six months of employment required.
• Cultural/lifestyle sensitivity to Black, Latino, and LGBT populations required.

Responsibilities

• Supports clients in making informed choices on HIV treatment according to individual needs
• Assists in enhancing clients’ ability to manage and maintain their treatment
• Determines treatment readiness and barriers to adherence
• Provides relevant treatment knowledge and educational interventions
• Establishes a trusting relationship to support treatment goals
• Conducts adherence and counseling sessions individually and in groups
• Develops individualized treatment care plans and medication schedules
• Assists with enrollment in government benefit programs (Medicaid, SNAP)
• Documents home delivery outcomes and updates weekly
• Facilitates referrals for essential supportive services
