Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools is seeking a Bilingual Education Science Teacher (Spanish) for Proviso East High School. This full-time role requires teaching science to grades 9-12 in a bilingual English/Spanish setting, with ESL and dual-language instructional responsibilities.

The position reports to the Building Principal and is 1.0 FTE for a 180-day school year, union-affiliated, with standard district evaluations and collaborative planning expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or eligibility for ESL Endorsement.
• Valid Illinois PEL or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) for grades 9-12.
• Endorsement: Bilingual Education - Spanish (Grades 9-12)
• Endorsements in Science - Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Space, Environmental, Physics (Grades 9-12)
• Experience: N/A

Responsibilities

• Teach to prescribed outcomes and goals to lead to positive student outcomes.
• Differentiate for students with language needs or different learning styles.
• Communicate regularly with parents, students, counselors, and support staff and document using SIS.
• Track, monitor, and post student progress on a weekly basis using SIS.
• Establish a positive and safe, student-centered learning environment.
