Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville is seeking a Bilingual Family Empowerment Coach (FEC) to support low- to moderate-income families with financial stability and goal attainment. You will coach individuals one-on-one and facilitate workshops in English and Spanish, applying HUD-relevant concepts when applicable.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with preference for HUD counseling certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
• HUD housing counseling certification preferred, but not required (must pass within 4 months).
• Experience with low-income populations and compassionate, culturally sensitive service.

Responsibilities

• Meet monthly with clients for one-on-one financial coaching sessions.
• Assess financial health and create action plans with budgeting strategies.
• Develop and deliver workshops on budgeting, savings, credit, and related topics.
• Maintain client records in Outcome Tracker and track program progress.
• Create referral networks and connect clients to community resources.
• Guide applicants through Habitat Homeownership processes and collaborate with the Homeowner Selection Committee.
