Job summary

Family Houston is seeking an Economic Opportunity Specialist to empower individuals, youth, and families through financial coaching, employment services, and resource navigation. You will provide coaching, develop action plans, and support education and career opportunities within a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework.

This hourly, non-exempt role requires collaboration with partners across the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in social work, human services, business, finance, education, psychology, or public administration.
• Experience in financial and employment coaching, workforce development, or case management preferred.
• Experience serving youth (14–24) and diverse communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial and employment coaching, develop action plans, and monitor progress toward goals.
• Assist budgeting, debt management, savings, and financial goal setting.
• Offer career exploration, resume development, and job search assistance.
• Support youth with education, vocational training, and internships.
• Coordinate referrals and follow-up to ensure access to services.
• Maintain confidential participant records and track outcomes.
