Job summary

Northwest Iowa Community College is seeking a Financial Aid Officer to advise students and families on aid options and to administer federal, state, and institutional aid programs in compliance with regulations. The role supports the College Operations and Finance division and reports to the Director of Financial Aid.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree, demonstrate knowledge of software applications, and be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Knowledge of current software applications.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Transcripts required with application.
• Experience in higher education or related financial field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise students, parents, faculty, staff, and other constituents on financial aid.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
• Authorize, award, process, and disburse financial aid programs.
• Assist with systems to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and file reports; conduct internal and external presentations.
• Supervise and evaluate department staff as assigned.
• Develop and implement policies for Title IV funds return.
