Job summary

Aspen Utility Company, a Quanta Services, Inc. company, is seeking a Safety Specialist to advise on regulatory compliance, conduct field safety audits, and inspect facilities to ensure OSHA standards are met.

You will develop corrective actions, write reports, conduct training, manage PPE inventory, and assist new hires. Requires associate degree or 5+ years; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience with an Associate degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of construction industry standards and OSHA regulations (1926/1910).
• Ability to monitor safety performance and implement corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and counseling about regulatory compliance with safety, health and environmental laws, codes, regulations, standards, and Company requirements.
• Conduct field safety audits to ensure safety compliance from employees and subcontractors.
• Inspect workplace facilities, tools, equipment, and machinery to identify deficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Investigate safety-related incidents and injuries to determine root causes and contributing factors.
• Develop mitigation measures and corrective actions to reduce recurring hazards.
• Write detailed reports on incident investigations and illnesses.
• Conduct or facilitate safety training and education programs for supervisory and field staff.
• Administer training records and ensure compliance with safety training policies.
• Recommend safe work practices and PPE usage to reduce exposure to hazards.
• Assist with new hire orientations and onboarding.
• Ensure tools and PPE are fit-for-purpose and properly maintained.
