City Of Nashua is seeking a Long Term Substitute Family Engagement Coordinator at Fairgrounds Middle School. The role bridges communication between families and students, supporting participation in academics and social growth.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2 years of college in a related field with appropriate work experience; preferably with service agencies and in an urban setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in two languages (one being English).
• Ability to adhere to confidentiality requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support families in crisis.
• Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
• Complete/enrolled in interpreter training courses listed (or equivalent).

Responsabilités

• Serve as an interpreter and translator between home and school.
• Coordinate with school administrators, ELL teachers, classroom teachers, social workers and guidance.
• Assist in case-managing of students, join other staff to assist with home visits, coordinate services with the school, city agencies, and other city departments.
• Facilitate ongoing engagement activities to educate and counsel families and at-risk students regarding educational and personal options.
• Assist all parents with registering their child(ren) in school.
• Interpret for parents/guardians at Parent-Teacher conferences, Open House nights, and one Family Engagement night in your assigned building.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of ELL and Director of Title 1.
