Job summary

First Light Child Advocacy Center is seeking a Family Advocate to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and victim-centered services across its 10-county area. You will support families through forensic interviews, medical evaluations, and coordination with law enforcement and CPS while ensuring grant and VOCA compliance.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience with trauma-affected families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in social work, criminal justice, psychology, human services, or related field.
• Training and/or experience in child abuse and neglect, child welfare, victim services, crisis response, or related systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate and ongoing support to child victims and non-offending caregivers, including crisis intervention as needed.
• Welcome and orient clients to First Light, clarifying roles of MDT partners.
• Assess needs and connect families with trauma-focused mental health, medical care, and community resources.
• Provide information about crime victims' rights and access to services.
• Coordinate intake for referrals from law enforcement and CPS and assist with forensic interviews and medical evaluations.
