Montgomery Public Schools seeks a District English Second Language Family Liaison and Interpreter to support multilingual learners and families. You will ensure effective communication, assist with enrollment, conferences, and family events, and maintain strict FERPA confidentiality across the district.

The role emphasizes bilingual communication, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration with schools, staff, and community partners to promote equitable instructional support.

Formación

• Associates degree or higher in education, interpretation, linguistics, or related field.
• Proficiency in English and at least one other language (Spanish preferred).
• Three years of experience with English Learners, bilingual education, or interpretation.
• Knowledge of Title III, ESSA requirements, and Alabama ESL regulations.
• Excellent communication, cultural competency, and organizational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Facilitate communication between school staff and families with interpretation/translation support.
• Provide accurate, confidential interpretation during parent-teacher conferences and district meetings.
• Support enrollment, registration, school events, and family workshops.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and submit required service documentation.
• Assist with other duties to support students and families as assigned.
• Adhere to district policies and state/federal rules and regulations.
