Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking a Teacher to support refugee and immigrant children, helping them reunite with families and adapt to a new country. The role involves planning lessons, using technology, and collaborating with case managers and foster families.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), hold a related Bachelor's degree with teaching certification, and meet health and safety requirements. Evening/weekend availability and a valid U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college.
• Active teaching certification (TESOL/TEFL or equivalent) and other required training.
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; strong communication skills.
• CPR, First Aid, and AEC certification by hire or within 60 days.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Must pass medical exams and immunization requirements.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with 3+ years of driving experience.
• TB testing and immunization requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Plan, schedule, and facilitate educational curriculum in compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Maintain discipline and accurate records of students' progress.
• Observe and evaluate student performance, behavior, and health.
• Communicate progress and needs to the case manager, clinician, foster parents, and supervisor.
