Job summary

Masa in the South Bronx is seeking a Bilingual Program Associate to provide immigration case management, screenings, and referrals in person. The role supports Know Your Rights education and community education efforts while coordinating with immigration attorneys.

The position is full-time through 6/30/27 with potential extension, based in Masa’s offices in the South Bronx. Local travel to events may be required and strong bilingual skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred, B.A. degree a plus.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in social work/social services preferred.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suite; familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
  • Experience working with immigrant and indigenous speaking families a major plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with community members, local schools and organizations to promote and recruit participants for Masa’s Pro Se Plus project.
  • Support outreach efforts and develop communications materials.
  • Manage immigration interest forms, waitlists, and case prioritization.
  • Conduct intake assessments and immigration screenings; refer to providers.
  • Enter data into Excel, Google Docs and Salesforce.
  • Update educational materials reflecting policy changes.
  • Conduct Know Your Rights presentations in various settings.
  • Support Masa events and volunteer cross-training.
  • Handle other activities as needed.

About the Bilingual Program Associate role

The Bilingual Program Associate reports to the Immigration Supervisor and Programs Manager and will provide immigration case management services through in-person support, immigration and social services referrals, and rapid response services to Masa community members. In addition, the Program Associate will conduct immigration legal screenings, coordinating and providing Pro Se application assistance with the support of immigration attorneys The Program Associate will provide community education and Know Your Rights presentations in various settings.

This position is full-time through 6/30/27, with possibility of extension contingent upon funding. This role is in-person at Masa’s offices in the South Bronx.

Responsibilities:
  • Build a relationship with community members, local schools and community-based organizations to promote and recruit participants for Masa’s Pro Se Plus project
  • Support overall community outreach efforts and related work that may arise; develop flyers and other communications materials
  • Support in managing immigration interest form, waitlists, and prioritizing cases
  • Conduct intake assessments and immigration legal screenings to assess immigration and other social services needs of community members; refer community members to appropriate providers
  • Collect and enter data from phone calls/ workshops/ consultations into a variety of platforms including Excel, Google Docs and Salesforce
  • Coordinate with supervisor and legal partners to regularly update and adapt educational materials to reflect changes in immigration policy and enforcement, as well as to reflect common concerns and questions being shared by community members
  • Conduct Know Your Rights presentations for community members of all ages in different settings like community- based organizations and throughout the NYC Public School system
  • Support special projects and Masa events, as needed
  • Support and assist in cross-training volunteers supporting in Pro Se Application Assistance clinics
  • Other activities, as needed

Work schedule includes occasional evenings and weekends

Compensation:

$22-24/hr
