Job summary

Community Action is seeking a detail-oriented Utility Assistance Access Specialist to help families stay connected by screening eligibility and guiding them to energy support programs. You will manage applications across databases and coordinate with partners to ensure timely processing.

The role emphasizes compassionate service, data accuracy, and handling sensitive information, with community outreach as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish (written and verbal) proficiency is required.
Proven ability to work with low-income, disabled, senior, and diverse populations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Advanced or proficient skills with databases, spreadsheets, and charting.

Responsibilities

Screen clients for eligibility across LIHEAP, OEAP, OLGA, and local utility programs.
Manage incoming applications and enter data into multiple systems of record; track status.
Coordinate with internal teams and community partners to ensure smooth processing of applications.
Handle DocuSign applications, generate notices, follow up on missing documents, and maintain confidential records.
Provide resource information on energy conservation and payment plans; assist at outreach events.
