Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; some medical knowledge.
  • 3-5 years medical billing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred.
  • Ability to understand bookkeeping terminology and apply it.
  • Proficient with computers and common office equipment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct eligibility assessments for clients per program guidelines.
  • Verify clients have no other payer sources (Medicaid/Medicare/third-party insurance).
  • Register clients into CPCDMS and complete paperwork.
  • Enter data for eligible clients into the system.
  • Maintain orderly eligibility files for access and review.
  • Conduct renewal eligibility assessments as required.
  • Confirm eligibility appointments and schedule initial service appointments.
  • Provide clients with required eligibility documentation lists.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Promote teamwork and collaborative relationships.
  • Attend safety trainings and follow safety protocols.
  • Travel to other sites for training and coverage as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Handle inquiries with empathy and clarity, providing essential support to prospective applicants and patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct eligibility assessments for clients, adhering to specific program guidelines.
  • Verify that clients do not have other payer sources, such as Medicaid, Medicare, or third-party insurance.
  • Register clients into the CPCDMS and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Perform data entry of eligible clients into our electronic system.
  • Maintain up-to-date and orderly eligibility files for seamless access and review.
  • Conduct renewal eligibility assessments as required by each program.
  • Confirm eligibility appointments and set initial service appointments once eligibility is determined.
  • Provide clients with a list of required eligibility documentation.
  • Participate actively in the Performance Improvement Program.
  • Promote effective working relations and collaborate as part of a dedicated team.
  • Attend all required safety training programs and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Ensure a safe environment by following proper procedures and reporting concerns.
  • Travel to other sites for training and coverage as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, some medical knowledge.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of medical billing experience preferred.
  • Some training or background in ICD-A / CPT codes preferred.
  • Ability to understand and practice bookkeeping and accounting terminology required.
  • Ability to operate computers and other office machines required.
  • Must be able to take responsibility and work under pressure.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices preferred.
