Job summary

Gresham-Barlow School District is seeking an Educational Assistant - Elementary/Middle - Media for the Highland Elementary School/media center. This DLI position requires bilingual proficiency and entails library services for students and staff, including circulation, processing materials, and supervision during library visits.

The role supports classroom activities, assists with volunteers, and ensures safe, organized media operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with school-age children (paid or volunteer).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or higher or equivalent for Highly Qualified status.
• Fingerprinting and Criminal Background check plus current First Aid/CPR card are required.

Responsibilities

• Manages library circulation and media center inventory using the automated system.
• Monitors students during media center visits and assists with reading/story time.
• Processes library materials (labels, barcodes, entries) and handles repairs/mending.
• Aids students in selecting materials and supervises volunteers in media center upkeep.
• Represents the media center in calls with parents, vendors, and community partners.
