The International School of San Francisco is seeking a Maternelle & Lower School Instructional Support Teacher for a full-time role. The teacher will provide guidance in both French and English, supporting continuity of learning across the Lower School.

Reporting to the Lower School Principal, the position combines classroom teaching, instructional support, and collaboration with bilingual teaching teams throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.
• Ability to teach effectively in both French and English.
• Demonstrated success in elementary classroom teaching.
• Strong classroom management and ability to build positive learning environments.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Collaborative, flexible, proactive approach to teaching and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction in French and English classrooms during planned and unplanned teacher absences.
• Deliver lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and maintain continuity of learning.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with students across grade levels.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, learning support staff, and administrators to ensure a seamless educational experience for students.
• Provide small-group or individualized instructional support when classroom coverage is not required.
• Support classroom management and reinforce school-wide expectations for student behavior.
• Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional learning, school events, and other community activities.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and administrators regarding student progress and classroom needs.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting the evolving instructional needs of the Lower School throughout the school year.
