Job summary

The International School of San Francisco is seeking a substitute teacher's aide or teacher for our Lower School and Maternelle. The position begins as soon as possible and continues while you are available, covering for faculty absences across grades.

Your duties include supervising children, assisting teachers, and supporting pedagogical methods in line with the school philosophy. You will prepare materials and help ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Certified in early childhood education or currently working toward certification (6 units; 12 would be a plus).
• CPR & First Aid certification or obtain certification upon hire.
• Proficient in the language of teaching (French and/or English).
• Experience working with children.
• Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children in a classroom.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and keep them safe at all times.
• Assist teachers with organizational and material needs of the class.
• Lead some student group activities.
• Support pedagogical methods and align with the school philosophy.
• Study the lesson plan and master goals before leading a group.
• Ensure students' well-being and safety.
• Prepare materials for arrival and activities.
• Prepare and supervise snack distribution.
• Help file away student work and display work.
• Ensure classroom is clean and organized at day end.
• Maintain educational materials in good condition.
