Job summary

APPLITRACK is seeking an Anticipated EL Paraprofessional at Hoover Elementary School to provide instructional and language support for English Learner students in the Transitional Bilingual Program. The role collaborates with teachers and EL staff to help students access district programs.

Responsibilities include translating, supporting language development, assisting with assessments, and helping students acclimate to the school environment.

Qualifications

• Requires fluency in English and designated second language with translation/interpreter ability.
• Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions with minimal supervision.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Support EL students individually or in small groups to reinforce academic, language, and social-emotional skills.
• Provide native language support and translation during instruction and assessments.
• Assist students new to the country in adjusting to school routines.
• Communicate with families through translation, interpretation, and outreach as assigned.
• Assist with supervision during transitions, lunch/recess, assemblies, and field trips.
• Support behavior expectations and district procedures.
• Collect and maintain student progress data as directed.
• Assist with EL assessments and school-based testing activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information.
• Participate in staff meetings and district trainings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
