Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, with one of the listed additional qualifications.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and the service language with strong oral and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist one or more certified teachers by working with EL students in the classroom or other settings.
• Provide language support by communicating in English or home language as needed.
• Prepare learning areas, displays, and instructional materials; operate educational equipment; perform routine clerical tasks.
• Confer with teachers regarding instructional programs and materials that support EL student success.
• Learn, apply, and explain school policies and procedures.
• Perform lunchroom, playground, and bus duties as required.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and communities.
• Support home-school communication through translation and interpretation services.
