Job summary

Compass Connections in Robstown, Texas, seeks an experienced educational facilitator to oversee an educational program for unaccompanied children. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, TESOL/TEFL certification, and at least three years of teaching and supervision, including supervisory experience.

English and Spanish fluency are mandatory, with duties covering curriculum delivery, compliance, and inter-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification required.
• Minimum three years of teaching and supervising experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Must travel daily between locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Meet federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
• Hire, train, supervise and provide performance feedback for program personnel in accordance with agency policies and procedures and federal and state standards.
• Select, acquire, store, issue and inventory classroom equipment, materials and supplies for the educational program.
• Complete all notification and reporting requirements in accordance with state and federal contract and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational program and make recommendations for improvement.
• Communicate and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students.
• Effectively communicate with and between facility staff, children, federal staff, legal representatives for services population and other community resources.
• Monitor program data and report to Compass Connections administration and management and the Office of Refugee Resettlement regarding activities and recommendations for the program.
• Participate in service expansion planning, budget preparations and long and short-term planning for the program.
• Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations.
• Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct.
