Job summary

Manor Independent School District Decker Middle School in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Bilingual Educational Associate to support a certificated teacher in delivering instruction to limited or non-English speaking students. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Must successfully pass MISD paraprofessional test.
• 48 College Hours/ Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Help manage behavior of students; intervene in crisis situations as needed.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom; including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep teachers informed of needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings.
