Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or coursework in education preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English and the language representative of ELL populations.
  • Experience with children, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supportive learning environments.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
  • Ability to assist students with mobility and activities requiring bending, lifting, or standing.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor students during class, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and appropriate social interactions.
  • Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and any significant observations for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in training and workshops to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in education and student support.
  • Primarily in a classroom setting, with responsibilities that may include outdoor supervision during breaks.

One of our clients is seeking a motivated professional to work as a Bilingual (Spanish)Educational Aide School Year 25-26 in the Washington, DC area. To provide bilingual (Spanish) instructional assistance in the class room by assisting in a variety of activities including the preparation of instructional materials, presenting classroom instruction, performing various clerical duties, and assisting and supervising the actions of students to enrich the delivery of education to students. The assignments will be consistent with the school statutes, regulations and good educational practices.
