Job summary

Centro de la Familia is looking for a Center Aide to support teachers in the classroom and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment for young children in Salt Lake City. The role involves assisting with supervision, health and safety routines, and promoting development across physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and language areas.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, enthusiastic about working with children, and may have a CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education within six months.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Enthusiasm to work with children, including those with special needs and limited English proficiency.
• Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (sitting on floor, kneeling, etc.).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
• CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler permits to be presented or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support and supervision of children.
• Maintain safe playground environment and promote health and safety.
• Support school readiness and developmental activities.
• Assist with transportation, kitchen operations, and family services as needed.
• Contribute to inclusive learning with IFSP/IEP children where applicable.
